Successful DIGITAL X 2019

After a successful start in 2018, the DIGITAL X entered the next round in 2019 - with full success. On 29 & 30 October 2019, Cologne became the hotspot for innovation and transformation. 160 international and national top speakers presented the facets of digital change with inspiring keynotes, controversial talks and trend-setting panels.

Artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, 3D printing, digital twin and augmented reality: we presented fascinating technology solutions on-site. Also, DIGITAL X 2019 formed the competence and networking platform for companies, startups, pioneers, initiators, and decision-makers.

In the first half of the year, DIGITAL X toured six regions of Germany and showed both large and small companies on site how they can use the opportunities offered by digitization for their business. More than 20,000 visitors took part in the big annual finale in Cologne.

Create your own avatar at DIGITAL X 2019.

Are you ready to discover your virtual impact in an innovative live experience? A unique visitor experience awaits you with the help of doob avatar and virtual reality technology. In the 360° scanner you can create your own avatar and then share it as an animated GIF – a smart move! Once scanned, you have a whole host of options: use the true-to-life avatar illustration to make a 3D selfie of yourself. Use the VR headset to see the full spectrum of modern communication and collaboration, all shown to you by a high-definition digital avatar of the person who was just standing next to you a moment ago. Go even more digital at DIGITAL X 2019

At the touch of a button, you can check in at the virtual exhibition foyer, be welcomed to the Telekom stand and watch virtually all of the speakers across five stages via livestream. All of this is made possible by meetyoo, which is turning DIGITAL X 2019 into a virtual exhibition experience. As an exclusive partner, the German company is digitalising the two-day event and opening the digital doors to the exhibition for all those who can’t attend too. Going to be there? VOLOCOPTER

Ready for take-off at DIGITAL X 2019.

Your dream of flying is about to achieve a new reality. The German start-up Volocopter is building the first manned, fully-electric and safe VTOL in the world. Its vision: flight for everyone, for every purpose, at any time. This pioneer of the future of mobility is convinced that the Volocopter will change our understanding of urban transportation. It will not only take the burden off the streets but will also get people where they are going faster – completely free from direct emissions and on demand.

LIGHTYEAR

Discover an innovative mobility concept at DIGITAL X 2019.

Hybrids, electric, hydrogen technology – these are words that have been coming up in many discussions. But Dutch startup Lightyear is developing a 5-seater solar car – including for long distances. Production is set to commence in 2020. According to Lex Hoefsloot, CEO and co-founder of Lightyear: 'Solar electric vehicles avoid the difficulty of having to develop a charging infrastructure because they only use the sun and conventional sockets as power sources.' The total range is said to extend up to 725 km in the WLTP cycle, and on sunny days as high as 800 kilometres.
