About the Speaker

Gernot Tripcke became Chief Executive Office of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) in 2000, which he continuously advanced over the following years. DFL magazine called him ‘the pacemaker’ of German ice hockey. The law graduate had joined the DEL as League Director in 1997. Under Tripcke’s leadership, ice hockey grew into the most successful indoor sport in Germany – also due to a sophisticated brand and media strategy – that was able to steadily increase its revenues.
