THE DIGITAL X INITIATIVE’S QUEST TO FIND GERMANY’S MOST DIGITAL SMES
The Digital Champions Award (DCA) is Germany’s largest cross-industry award for digitalization. Deutsche Telekom and WirtschaftsWoche have teamed up to provide a platform for SME digital success stories in the form of the Digital Champions Award.
We have made it our goal to award prizes to trailblazing national and regional projects as a way of highlighting how businesses are consistently and innovatively implementing digital solutions. And we are looking for those that channel their own courage to give others courage, and whose innovative spirit inspires SMEs.
The PRELIMINARY DECISIONS for the Digital Champions Awards 2019 took place in six regions across Germany, and the grand finale was the National Digital Champions Award 2019, held as part of the central event, DIGITAL X.

Despite or perhaps because of all the restrictions, 2020 has shown once more how important digital technology is for business, administration and society. The Digital Champions Award (DCA) from Telekom and WirtschaftsWoche recognizes SMEs who are consistently and innovatively implementing digital solutions in their businesses. They are inspiring others to establish a digital infrastructure, extensively digitalize business processes and develop new, digital business models.

LOOKING BACK AT THE DIGITAL CHAMPIONS AWARD
COLOGNE WELCOMES EUROPE’S LEADING DIGITALIZATION INITIATIVE 2019
On October 29th & 30th 2019, Cologne was the place to be for all things innovation and transformation, with 160 top international and national speakers presenting the various facets of digital transformation through inspiring keynotes, intense talks, and future-oriented panels.
Following DIGITAL X’s tour through six German regions during the first half of the year, which saw it show businesses of all sizes how to seize the opportunities offered by digitalization, the event series culminated in the official prize-giving ceremony of the Digital Champions Award 2019. More than 20,000 people attended the grand finale in Cologne.
