Thorsten Kaatze

Thorsten Kaatze is the Deputy Chairman of the Board of University Medicine Essen. His principal area of responsibility lies in the economic development of the University Hospital, including its clinics and research institutions.

Kaatze has worked at the Essen University Hospital since 2010. A graduate in economics, he was in charge of the finance department until 2012. As head of the equity holdings section from 2011, he was, alongside his overall hospital management duties, additionally responsible for carrying out special projects. These included due-diligence reviews and the subsequent founding or purchase of companies and their integration into the group’s structures.
