About the Speaker

After successfully completing his business school education at the Wirtschaftsgymnasium, he went on to complete an electrical engineering apprenticeship at AEG Aktiengesellschaft in 1984. With the introduction of programmable logic controllers, his first interest in information technology was awakened, which he deepened through extra-occupational studies. As early as 1990, Thomas Kleiner introduced a CAE system based on UNIX throughout the AEG Group and was responsible for this area until the end of 1993.

After the takeover by the Daimler Group, he joined S. Siedle & Söhne in 1994 in the GL staff position "Marketing and Sales Services", where he led the company into the digital age. In addition to a complex planning and quotation system with 35,000 users, his team created an electronic multimedia product catalog and the company's Internet presence. In the years from 1995 to 1997, he was actively involved in the working group from industry and commerce "Electronic Customer Communication and Development of Online Media", and also as an internal auditor for DIN ISO 9001 certification.

In 1999, as a registered businessman, the long-cherished desire to become independent took place. The optimization of business processes and their assurance, audit-proof archiving and the controllability of the flood of information and documents were already the incentive at that time and still characterize the portfolio of the companies today. In 2005, the company changed its name to iXenso Software-Solutions e.K. and in 2014, it took over a larger market companion to become today's iXenso AG with more than 8 million EUR in sales and a hundred employees. The company, which Thomas Kleiner continues to lead as majority shareholder and CEO, has received several awards, including the "Digital Champion Award" from Wirtschaftswoche and EMEA Partner of the year from Open Text.

In addition, he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors in Switzerland from 2012 to 2019 and was responsible for the launch of the digital learning platform scio.zone as Managing Director from 2020 to 2021. With iXenso CS GmbH - a sister company of iXenso AG - the successful entry into the cloud business took place in 2021. Thomas Kleiner can now look back on 23 years of entrepreneurial activity. He advises companies on digitization and digital transformation, but in particular on modern agile organizational forms, such as the MOLOGA lived in iXenso AG. He lives near Freiburg, has two grown-up children aged 27 and 30, plays sports every day and is an enthusiastic blue-water sailor in the Mediterranean.
