About the Speaker
Lena Düpont is a member of the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and a substitute member of the Committees on Agriculture and Rural and on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality. She is also Spokesperson for home affairs and migration policy of the CDU/CSU group, Vice-Coordinator of the parliamentary group for the Committee on Internal Affairs, Chairperson of the Frontex Scrutiny Working Group and Deputy Party Leader of the CDU in Lower Saxony. Lena Düpont holds a degree in political science and Christian journalism and an MBA in public affairs and leadership. She was an assistant at the European Parliament and worked for the German Bundestag and the German Travel Association in Berlin. In Gifhorn she is a local assistant for a member of the Bundestag and for the city magazine.
