Dr. Axel Kniehl

Dr Axel Kniehl has been the Executive Director and Board member responsible for marketing and sales of the Miele Group since 1 August 2014. After earning a diploma in business administration at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, a research fellowship and a doctorate from the Catholic University of Eichstätt, he started his professional career at the strategy consultants McKinsey & Company and later joined Fielmann AG as Head of International Expansion. In 2006, he joined the Whirlpool Corporation where he was initially responsible for the European dishwasher business, followed in turn by the sales regions of Russia/CIS and China. Before joining Miele, Dr Kniehl was Vice President responsible for the whirlpool business in Northern and Continental Europe and at the same time CEO of the Bauknecht domestic appliance subsidiary.
