About the Speaker
Damian began his career in 1990 at British Gas. Following E.ON’s takeover of Powergen in 2000, he moved to Germany in 2004 and became a member of the Board of Management of E.ON IS GmbH in 2006. In 2013 he was appointed Member of the Board of E.ON Global Commodities in Düsseldorf. Since the foundation of Uniper in 2016, Damian has been the CIO of Uniper Group.
The split from E.ON gave Damian and his team a unique opportunity. Either they used E.ON as an IT Service Provider or they would make their own way. The Uniper Team set out to fully move themselves on a new IT landscape. They have fully exited E.ON’s Data Centres, moving all applications towards the public cloud. A new network was built and Uniper staff are enjoying the benefits of the modern cloud based workplace.
