Christoph Bauer

Christoph Bauer was born in 1970 and currently lives in Cologne and Zurich. He studied at the University of Mannheim, Arizona State University and the University of Oldenburg and holds a PhD in business administration. Since the advent of the internet in the mid-1990s, he has been a pioneer of the digitalisation of media companies and business models of all genres. In addition to this background, he has 20 years of change management experience in the media industry, holding management positions at Bertelsmann, NZZ, Ringier and AZ Medien. Since October 2013 he has been Group CEO of DuMont, a leading media corporation in Germany which was founded back in 1620.

At DuMont he set the company on a growth trajectory, turning it into a digitally driven enterprise. In his business strategy he is leading the transformation agenda along three business areas – Content, Data and Technology – in order to ensure the company’s profitable growth as well as resilience.
