About the Speaker
Almut Nagel works for the Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology of the European Commission, in the CNECT.F.1 unit Digital Transformation – Coordination of Digital Strategy and Green ICT. She is Policy Officer for the green digital transformation at the European Commission and is actively involved in the development of the European Digital Product Passport as part of the proposed Eco-design for Sustainable Product Regulation and with businesses of the European Green Digital Coalition on methodologies to measure the net environmental impact of ICT solutions, among other projects. Nagel will provide an overview of measures the European Commission is taking with respect to more sustainable digital technologies, such as the further development of power-saving processors, software and AI, as well as more eco-friendly electronic communications by 2030.
