About the company

MIRA enables driverless driving through teleoperation. We are convinced that automated driving will not be possible without human interaction. This is due to unpredictable situations such as accidents, roadblocks, or system failures, where artificial intelligence reaches its limits.

MIRA achieves the spatial decoupling of driver and vehicle by means of teleoperation. This enables remote control of a vehicle via a driver’s station from any location. MIRA-equipped vehicles are controlled via visual information by a vehicle operator from the driver’s cab over a 5G cellular network.

This is what you can expect at DIGITAL X

At DIGITAL X, MIRA is demonstrating how safe, reliable teleoperated driving is already possible on public roads. The control station is exhibited in the partner pavilion at Rudolfplatz, from where one of our passenger vans is driven to the MediaPark and back by remote control. Visitors can experience live on-site how reliably and safely the teleoperator manoeuvres the passenger van through the public traffic of downtown Cologne. Our experts will be on hand to explain the possibilities of teleoperated driving to interested visitors. Exciting insights into applications in logistics and transportation in particular can be expected.

What makes the product unique

  1. MIRA already offers Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO)-compliant teleoperation technology for use in passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and special vehicles.
  2. MIRA is already driving on public roads (and not only on private, closed company premises, etc.) and is testing teleoperation (TeleDriving) to demonstrate and evaluate realistic customer business models.
  3. All safety-critical components are consistently developed in accordance with relevant standards, including ISO 26262 (ASIL-D) and ISO/SAE 21434 on cybersecurity
  4. Platform-agnostic architecture for the use of MIRA teleoperation technology in all vehicle types
  5. Proprietary key technologies
  6. Many years of experience in the field of teleoperation

Solution for the customer

  1. Teleoperation as a solution available at short notice for driverless operation of vehicles without higher automation (TeleDriving).
  2. Safeguarding edge cases of automated driving (L4/L5) by perceiving the fallback level specified by law (technical supervision).
  3. Reducing the time-to-market of automated driving by several years by linking autonomous driving (artificial intelligence) and teleoperation (human intelligence).
  4. Increasing the efficiency of the driving personnel by up to 500% through the sequential assumption of driving tasks with different vehicles (location-independent).
  5. Reduction of risk to life and limb in safety-critical applications.
